$25.00/Hr. - $34.62/Hr.

Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.

Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 5%Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 5%

About This Job

The Intermediate Marketing Engineer II leads complex development efforts and provides technical mentorship within the team. This role requires advanced technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive improvements in Martech systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently design, build, and maintain features within our customer-facing web application, taking ownership from spec through deployment
  • Architect and implement data integrations connecting our digital properties to marketing, analytics, and personalization platforms
  • Partner with product, marketing, and analytics teams to translate requirements into robust, scalable solutions across the customer journey
  • Lead and contribute to tag management, data layer architecture, and data collection workflows that power marketing and personalization strategies
  • Lead and contribute to code reviews, drive technical discussions in sprint planning, and help raise the quality bar across the team
  • Write clean, performant, and well-tested code; champion best practices and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional experience with JavaScript development
  • Deep, demonstrable command of JavaScript
  • Production-level React experience, including hooks, state management, component architecture, and performance optimization
  • Proficiency with Git workflows including branching strategies, pull request reviews, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong communication skills with a track record of effective cross-functional collaboration and technical leadership
  • Ability to work fully on-site at our San Diego headquarters five days per week
  • Experience with Next.js or other server-side rendering frameworks in a production environment
  • Hands-on experience integrating with CRM, marketing automation, or customer data platforms (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot, Segment)
  • Practical experience with tag management systems (e.g. Google Tag Manager, Tealium) and data layer design
  • Familiarity with digital analytics tools and marketing data pipelines, including A/B testing and conversion tracking
