Java Developer role for 12 months Contract with the Direct Financial Client


Job Description: 

  • Experienced and versatile Java enterprise software engineer with proven experience in delivering robust technical solutions within a results oriented environment. 
  • Comfortable working on multiple deliverables often with tight deadlines. This role is primarily focused on delivering Risk Services solutions for the Front Office Risk Management team with a specific focus on Markets Division. 
  • They will serve as a technical resource in finding software solutions for customers. 
  • Conduct research and resolve problems in relation to processes, and recommend solutions and process improvements. 
  • Analyze user needs, determine requirements. 
  • Develop, implement and maintain software solutions to meet business requirements. 
  • Provide technical support, advice, and consultation with the issues relating to supported applications. 
  • Create and maintain process documentation for programs. 
  • Create test data, conduct interfaces and unit tests. 
  • Assures quality, security and compliance for supported systems and applications. 
  • Conduct clients/user training as required. 
  • The role will involve some support in the early phase and over time transition into more of a core java development role across the Risk Services platform. 

Responsibilities

  • Acts in the highest level technical role as an individual contributor and/or team lead for the most complex computer applications and/or application initiatives. 
  • Utilizes a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs. 
  • Works on the most complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variance factors. 
  • Plans, performs, and acts as the escalation point for the most complex platform designs, coding, and testing. 
  • Leads most complex multiple modeling, simulations, and analysis efforts. 
  • Acts as expert technical resource to programming staff in the program development, testing, and implementation process.
  • 10+ years application development and implementation experience.
