Program Description
You will join as a Technical Product Specialist through our Alertus Tech Forge Program. This program is a dynamic experience designed for ambitious new graduates with degrees in Engineering and Computer Science. It will serve as your foundation for a long-term, high-impact career at Alertus. You will be given the opportunity to engage in challenging assignments across core technical departments, accelerating your growth and exposing you to the full product lifecycle of our life-saving mass notification solutions.
Transition Structure: Participants will engage in distinct assignments across departments, allowing for deep immersion and hands-on contributions to meaningful projects. The number of assignments may vary for each participant, and the overall program is designed to span for approximately 18-36 months.
Mentorship: You will be paired with experienced leaders and technical experts, ensuring you receive structured mentorship and guidance throughout each rotation.
Full-Time Placement: Upon successful completion of the program, a full-time role placement will be determined. This placement is based on your performance, program feedback, and the company's long-term needs, ensuring a strategic and rewarding next step in your Alertus career.
Key Departmental Assignments
Assignments will provide hands-on experience in critical areas by moving through our various technical departments listed below. Note, this is not a one size fits all program and departmental assignments may vary for each participant.
  • Software Development - Design, coding, and testing of our on-premise and cloud-based Alertus Server, mobile applications, and third-party integrations (e.g., Node.js, Java, Flutter).
  • Hardware Engineering - Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of hardware electronics, including our High Power Speaker Array and other IoT devices.
  • Technical Support - Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical assistance to clients, resolving complex software and hardware issues, and learning the customer-facing impact of our solutions.
  • Quality Assurance - Focus on rigorous testing methodologies (manual and automated), bug tracking, and validation of hardware and software components (e.g., Server, Mobile Apps, Hardware devices like CCUs, Sirens, HPSAs).
  • Technical Field Services & Implementations - Assist with the on-site installation, configuration, and integration of Alertus solutions at client sites across the nation.
  • Product Management & Technical Writing - Support product development efforts, conduct product requirement research, contribute to product requirements generation, and complete vital integration work. Assist with building out our Knowledge Base (KB) repository with documentation on our products for our customers and various internal teams.
  • Sales Engineering - Provide pre-sales technical expertise, conducting product demonstrations, and designing technical solutions for complex client needs.

  • Must be willing to transition work assignments, projects, and teams every 8-12 months throughout the program

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.

$45,000 - $65,000 a year
The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Alertus' salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will depend on several factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, education/training and other qualifications.
Additional Information:
