MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Associate Software Engineer to join our team in Fort Meade, MD.
 

Kickstart your engineering career by building and improving core internal software using modern cloud technologies. You'll collaborate daily with experienced engineers to build scalable, secure solutions that safeguard our agency's data.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements while reviewing and testing components for adherence to design.

  • Design and code new software or modify existing software to add features and resolve problem reports through debugging and defect correction.

  • Support the integration of existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments using standard development methodologies.

  • Provide specific input to system design, including hardware/software trade-offs and the use of COTS/GOTS in place of new development.

  • Develop data queries for existing databases and recommend improvements for documentation and process standards.

  • Maintain system baselines and configuration management items while working with stakeholders to ensure systems meet all requirements.

  • Document responses to required controls and maintain a library of documentation, including network diagrams for cyber defense capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field) paired with 0-2 years of software development experience or relevant coursework/internships.

  • Experience with Python (preferred), or solid working knowledge of Java, JavaScript, or C/C++.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cloud: Exposure to AWS basics, with an eagerness to dive deeper into cloud services on the job.

  • Containers: Basic familiarity with Docker and a curiosity to learn how Kubernetes works in production.

  • Frontend: Hands-on practice or project experience building web interfaces with React or Angular.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.


The projected compensation range for this position is $76,800.00-$128,300.00.
