Your Impact

WNA is seeking a motivated entry level Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team of engineers. The ideal candidate will have experience in the building construction industry and an interest in HVAC and Plumbing systems design. The Mechanical Design Engineer will thrive in a collaborative, and results-driven environment, contributing directly to the execution of our mission and vison. Serving as the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be an asset in supporting the design of our retail projects and meeting our longstanding clients' needs. The rolewill report directly to the VP of Engineering. This position is available at our Pittsburgh or Portersville office.

Design Engineer's Priorities

  • Assist in the design of various mechanical systems forbuilding construction projects under the supervision of Project Leadership
  • Develop accurate designs/drawings that comply with all applicable codes and company drafting standards, practices, and procedures
  • Perform heating/cooling load calculations and building energy modeling
  • Prepare technical reports, edit specifications, and undertake technical investigation studies
  • Coordinate internally with all engineering design teams
  • Participate in the quality assurance process, project time budgeting, milestone design review and inter-discipline cross-checking
  • Coordinate with Code Officials and provide code summaries for projects
  • Coordinate time and schedule to work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Participate in all scheduled team communication, meetings, and trainings

What You Need

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree from an ABET Accredited College in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum internship or relevant experience designing commercial and retail mechanical systems including HVAC air, plumbing and water systems
  • Solid experience using both AutoCAD and Revit software
  • Knowledge in MEP building/energy codes, and working with Utility Companies and Local Municipalities
  • High level of Personal Integrity, Professionalism and Honesty with one's own ability
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and desire to collaborate and take on challenges
  • Related Certifications such as EIT, CPDT or CPD are a plus!
