RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client, a growing technology company in the Indianapolis, IN area is seeking a Java Technical Lead to provide hands-on leadership for a critical enterprise application platform. This role is ideal for a senior Java professional who enjoys architecting solutions, mentoring engineers, and driving software delivery while remaining actively involved in development. Remote candidates are welcome but must reside in the Indianapolis metro area and be available for occasional onsite meetings.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise software solutions
* Translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures
* Drive the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support
* Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, shared services, and microservices
* Troubleshoot complex application and production issues
* Establish engineering standards, code quality practices, and release processes
* Mentor developers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical coaching
* Support project planning, estimation, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and engineering excellence
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
* At least 7+ years of Java development experience
* 3+ years in a Technical Lead, Lead Developer, or Engineering Lead role
* Proven success delivering enterprise-scale software solutions
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
