Job description

Senior Java/J2EE Developer

Type: Long Term Contract (6m+)

Location: HYBRID IN McLEAN, VA or NYC, NY or PLANO, TX (Tuesday - Thursday on site weekly)

Compensation: $$$5-80/hr This role is HYBRID on-site Tuesdays-Thursdays weekly in one of the following cities:

  • McLEAN, VA (HQ)
  • NEW YORK CITY, NY
  • PLANO, TX

Apex Systems is looking for a strong and excited Senior Java/J2EE Developer to support one of our fortune 500 clients and join their team on a hybrid basis at one of their state-of-the-art office locations in McLean, VA or NYC, NY or Plano, TX!

This position is ideal for a motivated developer passionate about using technology to solve business needs. In this role, the successful candidate will be part of IT development, maintenance, & support work for systems used by Enterprise Operations and Legal Divisions. The work will involve a combination of building & enhancing in-house applications or working with vendor COTS/SaaS products & integrating them with infrastructure.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement innovative solutions in a dynamic and fast-paced business environment
  • Work closely with team members and business partners to develop cutting edge technology solutions under tight deadlines
  • Predict effects of configuration changes; identify application bottlenecks and opportunities to optimize performance
  • Support issue resolution and completion of ad-hoc requests in support of business partners within the I&CM division
  • Provide production support that includes evaluate defects, investigate cause and come up with solutions to address defects or routines that requires manual maintenance
  • Perform "what-if" analysis to simulate network stress test and survivability
  • Understand Business Requirements, participate in Requirements Analysis, identify solutions by working with technical team and architects, design Applications based on System Requirements and Architecture, prototype if necessary, develop, unit test and deploy application

Basic Requirements??

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related
  • 7+ yrs of Java/J2EE Development
  • 7+ yrs exp. in technical solution design, development and deployment of software solutions using Java J2EE, Spring Framework, JDBC and Rest API
  • 7+ yrs exp. with vendor COTS/SaaS solutions
  • Exp. with relational databases including Sybase, SQL Server and/or DB2
  • Proficient in Angular 7+

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to work well with a variety of personalities.
