Position Description:
CGI is seeking a hands-on API / Full Stack Engineer to design, develop, test, and support highly scalable enterprise services and APIs. The ideal candidate brings strong Java/Spring engineering expertise, cloud experience, and a passion for engineering excellence.
This is a full-time, on-site employment opportunity based in the Cary, NC area.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
. Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable REST APIs and enterprise services.
. Develop solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Core, and Web Services.
. Contribute to domain-driven API design and API lifecycle management.
. Develop and maintain solutions deployed within AWS cloud environments.
. Implement automated unit and integration testing using modern testing frameworks.
. Support CI/CD pipelines and containerized application deployment.
. Design and support high transaction production applications with a focus on scalability, availability, monitoring, and performance.
. Participate in code reviews and promote software engineering best practices.
. Troubleshoot complex production and non production issues.
. Lead process and technology improvement initiatives.
. Mentor team members and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. 6 9 years of hands-on software development experience.
. Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
. Strong development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
. Extensive experience designing and developing REST APIs.
. Experience with Domain Driven API Design, Swagger/OpenAPI, and API lifecycle management.
. Experience with AWS cloud technologies.
. Experience with JUnit, Cucumber, REST Assured, or similar testing frameworks.
. Experience with Jenkins, Maven, Docker, and Git based development environments.
. Experience supporting high volume production applications.
. Strong understanding of scalability, availability, monitoring, and application performance.
Preferred Qualifications
. Experience with Splunk or similar monitoring/log aggregation platforms.
. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $77,800.00 $136,200.00.
