Purpose of the Job

The AI Conversational Bot Developer Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining conversational AI solutions using the Kore.ai platform. This role builds conversational workflows, trains NLP models, integrates enterprise systems, and supports production deployments of conversational automation capabilities. The Specialist collaborates with architects, engineers, contact center teams, and business stakeholders to automate member interactions and improve digital service capabilities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Designs and develops conversational workflows and dialog tasks within the Kore.ai platform.

  • Trains NLP models, including intents, entities, and contextual conversation handling.

  • Develops service node scripting logic using JavaScript to support API integrations.

  • Integrate conversational bots with enterprise systems, including CRM platforms, contact center solutions, and core banking APIs.

  • Configures and maintains escalation workflows that transfer conversations to live agents when appropriate.

  • Performs testing and validation of conversational experiences, including regression and user acceptance testing.

  • Monitors bot performance metrics, including containment rates, intent accuracy, and conversation success rates.

  • Analyzes conversation transcripts and refines training models to improve conversational performance.

  • Maintains documentation and development standards for conversational automation solutions.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and implement new automation opportunities.

  • Participates in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and feature delivery.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists with other tasks and projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must maintain API's and workflows within Kore.AI or other enterprise AI platforms.

  • Must have a strong understanding of JSON data transformation and API request/response processing.

  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot and debug integration issues across Node.js middleware, Java services, and Python automation scripts.

  • Must have familiarity with microservice architectures and distributed application design.

  • Should possess a strong commitment to providing excellent service to Truliant's members.

Education and Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline is required.

  • 3-6 years of professional experience developing backend services or application integrations using Node.js, Java, or Python is required.

  • 3-6 years of experience implementing REST APIs and web service integrations within enterprise environments is required.

  • Experience supporting automation platforms, conversational AI solutions, or digital service platforms is required.

  • 3-6 years of experience developing backend services or integrations using Node.js and JavaScript required.

  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and managing API integrations with enterprise systems required.

  • Experience using Python for automation scripts, analytics, integration support, or data processing workflows required.

  • Experience using development tools such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and API development tools required.

  • Experience working with cloud-based application platforms or containerized environments required.

  • Professional experience using Java to build or integrate with enterprise services, microservices, or middleware platforms required.

  • Experience working within Agile development teams delivering iterative software releases is preferred.
