Contract Duration: 6 months

Location: Remote

Work Hours: 8AM-5PM Pacific Standard Time

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deploy, and support AWS-based applications using Python and Java.
  • Implement solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, Athena, Glue, S3, and CloudFront.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation, CDK, and Terraform.
  • Build reusable, scalable, and cost-efficient components following cloud and serverless best practices.
  • Participate in CI/CD pipeline development and support automated deployments.
  • Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Perform routine troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, deployment procedures, operational runbooks, and support documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in application development with a focus on AWS cloud solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services including VPC, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, Athena, DynamoDB, Glue, and ECS/Fargate.
  • Proficiency in Python and Java
  • Experience with Docker and container-based deployments
  • Strong SQL skills, including advanced queries; experience with SQL Server, DB2, or PostgreSQL
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaborate effectively within a technical team.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js preferred.
  • Experience developing serverless and event-driven architectures on AWS.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform).
  • Experience with source control and application build and deployment using tools such as Git, Maven, shell scripting, and cloud-based pipelines.
