Job Description: OVERVIEW FROM MANAGER:
"We are looking for a senior-level developer with architecture experience. The first month of the project will be dedicated to architecture while the remainder will consist of development. Additionally, this resource needs solid experience in Java development and with exposure to / experience with Agile methodologies, Java Struts 1.0, Hibernate, J-Query, EJBs, etc. This resource needs to take ownership of some of the design efforts and offer solutions and ideas. A heads-down developer strong at execution will not fulfill this need."

Project and Team Overview:
Vistakon (Johnson & Johnson Vision Care) is seeking a senior-level J2EE developer with architecture experience to contribute to the enhancement of an existing global E-Commerce application that is predominantly a Business-to-Business site for eye-care professionals (ECPs), ie., practitioners, distributors, large customers. ECPs can place orders of contact lenses, prescribe prescriptions for patients, view a wide range of reports regarding orders and financials, check the status of orders, etc. Within the past couple of years it has also expanded to include a Business-to-Consumer site targeted at the consumers who wear the contact lenses. It is in 30 different countries and written in 36 different languages, meaning there are many requirements and nuances unique to each region and / or country that need to be considered (ie., regional privacy, language translations 1 bit v. 2 bit characters, marketing, scheduling, sites, prescription requirements in a B2B model v. no prescription requirements in a B2C model, etc.).
In Q3 2017 J&J acquired Sightbox, which is a subscription vision care service that connects consumers with eye care professionals and an annual supply of contact lenses. The subscription service has already been integrated into its US E-Commerce site, so these resources will support efforts to integrate it into its Japan-facing E-Commerce site.
Day-to-Day responsibilities will include:
• Architecting the solution for integrating the new subscription service (1st month of the project)
• Take "ownership" of the design efforts, including regularly providing solutions and ideas
• Conducting enhancements within the confines of an existing framework, including taking a basic requirement from the business and using it to conduct all enhancements from the front-end HTML prototypes all the way through to the back-end working with the database
• Writing test plans
• Working within the J&J change control process
