About the role

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with 5+ years of experience building and supporting enterprise web applications. In this role, you will help modernize customer-facing applications by migrating authentication from LDAP to Microsoft Entra ID B2C, delivering secure and seamless user experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement authentication solutions, enhance application functionality, and support ongoing modernization initiatives.

In this role, you will:
  • Support the migration of legacy applications from LDAP authentication to Microsoft Entra ID B2C.
  • Design, develop, and maintain customer-facing web applications using Java and related technologies.
  • Implement and support Single Sign-On (SSO), authentication, and authorization capabilities.
  • Develop and consume RESTful and SOAP web services while integrating with Oracle databases.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and deliver high-quality solutions.

What you need to have to be considered:
  • 5+ years of experience developing enterprise web applications using Java.
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Framework, REST/SOAP services, and Oracle SQL/Stored Procedures.
  • Experience with front-end technologies such as JSP, JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, React, or Vue.
  • Experience implementing Microsoft Entra ID B2C (Azure AD B2C) and Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions.
  • Experience using source code management tools such as Git or Bitbucket.
These will help you stand out:
  • Experience migrating applications from legacy authentication platforms to cloud-based identity solutions.
  • Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and SAML authentication protocols.
  • Experience supporting high-traffic customer-facing applications.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and application modernization initiatives.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating across distributed teams.

Salary and compensation:

The annual salary for this position will be between $82,000 to 93,500 per year depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
