Job description

Senior Engineer

We are seeking an experienced AWS Developer to design, build, and operate cloud-native applications and automation on Amazon Web Services. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering skills with deep hands-on experience across AWS services, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), CI/CD, observability, and cloud security. This role partners closely with engineering, security, and operations teams to deliver scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy cloud-native applications and services on AWS, including serverless and container-based workloads.
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, including development of reusable, production-grade Terraform modules.
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines and release automation using Git, Jenkins/GitHub Actions, Artifactory, and container registries.
  • Integrate applications with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS/EKS, EC2, API Gateway, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, SNS/SQS, KMS, and IAM.
  • Apply cloud security best practices, including IAM policy design, KMS encryption, secure configurations, and automated security/policy validations.
  • Collaborate with architects, SREs, and security teams to ensure deployments comply with governance, networking, and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize application performance, reliability, and cost; participate in incident response and post-incident reviews.
  • Contribute to design reviews, documentation, automation standards, and developer tooling to improve engineering productivity and operational safety.

Qualifications:

  • Proven software development experience (Python, Java, Node.js, or similar) and strong Unix/Linux shell skills.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying applications on AWS with strong knowledge of compute, storage, networking, database, and messaging services.
  • Proficiency with Terraform, including authoring advanced and reusable IaC modules.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS) and deploying container workloads on AWS.
  • Familiarity with observability and reliability tooling such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, X-Ray, AWS Config, and ELK/EFK stacks.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, encryption, and secure coding and deployment best practices.
  • Awareness of AWS cost optimization strategies and cloud financial governance.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • AWS Developer or DevOps certifications preferred (e.g., AWS Certified Developer – Associate, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional).

Additional skills:

  • Experience with Helm and Kubernetes deployments managed via Terraform.
  • Kubernetes certifications such as CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) or CKAD (Certified Kubernetes Application Developer).
  • Experience with serverless architectures and application migration to AWS.
  • Python scripting experience for automation, tooling, and workflow orchestration.

Additional information:

  • Monetary assistance and support for Adoption, Surrogacy and Fertility
  • Monetary assistance and support for pet adoption
  • Employee Assistance Programs and Health/Wellness/Comfort reimbursements to help you invest in your future and work/life balance
  • Tuition Assistance
