The environment is fast-paced, offering opportunities for rapid skill development and taking on new responsibilities as the company grows. This setting is ideal for those who enjoy problem-solving, continuous learning, and making a direct impact on the product and business.

Iru is the AI-powered security & IT platform used by the world's fastest-growing companies to secure their users, apps, and devices. Built for the AI era, Iru unifies identity & access, endpoint security & management, and compliance automation-collapsing the stack and giving IT & security time and control back.

Iru is backed by some of the smartest investors in tech-General Catalyst, Tiger Global, Felicis, Greycroft, and First Round Capital. In July 2024, Iru raised $100 million from General Catalyst, valuing the company at $850 million. The Opportunity

As a Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack) on Iru's Customer Experience team, you'll join a platform team responsible for the systems that power how customers are provisioned, billed, and managed across the company. You'll take on meaningful ownership of services that handle complex billing and tenant lifecycle workflows, including usage-based billing, with real depth in modeling, state, and cross-system coordination.

You'll spend most of your time in the backend building scalable, event-driven services, while also contributing to the front-end surfaces that internal and external stakeholders rely on to interact with these systems. This is a role for engineers who thrive with ambiguity, want to own technical direction, and can ship quickly with strong product and engineering judgment.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in a backend programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience building user interfaces with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience working in an event-driven distributed architecture with message brokers (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, RabbitMQ).
  • Solid understanding of service-oriented architecture and microservices best practices.
  • Experience consuming and designing RESTful APIs and/or gRPC from both the client and server side.
  • Ability to identify problems/opportunities, break them down into critical parts, and design scalable solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment strategies.
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests across the stack.
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or ECS.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as Postgres or MySQL.
  • Strong experience with peer code reviews, offering and receiving constructive feedback.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with E2E testing systems (e.g., Playwright).
  • Experience with billing or payment platforms (e.g., Stripe).
  • Exposure to subscription, account provisioning, usage based billing, or customer lifecycle systems.
  • Experience with API gateways (e.g., Kong, AWS API Gateway).
  • Experience with observability tools and practices, including distributed tracing, logging, and monitoring.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
