Description

The Diversified Analog Solutions team located in Ottawa, Canada is developing wireless integrated circuit components and has a challenging opportunity for an University Student available for a 4-6 month work term (Sept- Dec). The successful university student (candidate) will report to a senior engineering mentor assigned to him or her.  As a Layout Design Student, you'll be working in the Layout Design Group and mentored in the Layout of RF and mixed signal integrated circuit components from schematics, diagrams or netlists utilizing commercial/standard bulk CMOS and SOI technologies in accordance with the design rules.

Responsibilities

Has knowledge in Silicon Layout, Co-op must have the ability to complete tasks in creative and effective ways, and work on assignments requiring considerable judgement and initiative.

The Co-Op must also understand implications of the work and be able to make recommendations for solutions, methodologies and procedures.

Co-Op must have an understanding of power/gnd/ESD/analog placement and routing considerations and exposure to RF circuit, as well as, transmission line layouts.

Required Experience and Skills

Currently enrolled BSEE or MSEE student.

Must possess skills in the utilization of CAD tools, specifically Cadence 6.1.6 or 6.1.7, Cadence Virtuoso XL, Assura & Calibre Verification tools for the generation of IC layouts and associated documentation.

A solid understanding of semiconductor manufacturing.

The typical pay range for an intern is currently CAD $25.00 - $44.00 per hour. Starting base pay will depend on level of education and the ultimate job duties and requirements.
