Le Jardin Academy is seeking a Security Guard (Regular Full-time). The Security Guard is responsible for the protection, safeguarding and security of assets, personnel, parents, students and all visitors. Hawaii Guard Card is required. Schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday from 01:30PM to 09:30PM, and Friday and Saturday from 06:00AM to 02:00PM. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. No phone calls, please. Job Scope
The Security Guard is responsible for the protection, safeguarding and security of assets, personnel, parents, students and all visitors.
Essential Functions

  • Reports conditions on campus while on shift, including campus use, health and safety conditions, etc
  • Monitors parking and visitors on campus.
  • Maintains contact with front desk personnel, event organizers, and other campus users.
  • Conducts inspections campus-wide on Fire Code and other health and safety regulations.
  • Assist Administration with discipline incidents as needed.
  • Assist with loss prevention at the direction of the Head of Security.
  • Ensures campus is locked and secured.
  • Liaison with contracted cleaning staff and other campus users and employees.
  • Direct traffic to ensure proper flow and user safety as needed.
  • Assists with emergency drills including fire and intruder as needed.
  • Trains contracted cleaning staff on campus lock-up and closure procedures.
  • Liaise with emergency management officials such as fire and police as needed.
  • Monitors equipment function and liaise, at discretion of Head of Security, with vendors.
  • Researches and stays current on developments in security discipline.
  • Conducts staff training that includes fire drill, lock down and safety procedures as needed.
Other Duties
  • Assist as needed with setup for days, evening and the following morning's events.
  • Assists as needed with maintenance activities, as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements
Education
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Possession of a Hawaii State Guard Card.
  • First Aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (preferred). Must obtain certificate within three (3) months of hire date.
Experience
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Demonstrated customer service excellence.
  • Experience in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
  • One year related experience in the security field (preferred).
  • Experience working in a school setting (preferred).
  • Experience relevant to security management (preferred).
Skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Build strong relationships.
  • Work independently and frequently without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Ability to drive golf cart around campus.
