Key Responsibilities
  • The Graphic Designer Translator is responsible for overseeing the production of translated materials and collateral printed on board, ensuring product quality standards are met or exceeded. They follow the Print Shop's work flow and routines to meet deadlines set by onboard management or as necessary for the itinerary/voyage.
  • The Graphic Designer Translator coordinates the proofreading process for translated printed collateral, provides ongoing support to onboard departments, creates comprehensive handover notes, and updates current pieces of translated collateral for shoreside management approval.
  • The Graphic Designer Translator works with the Printer to ensure translated materials are produced in tandem with their English versions, liaises with onboard departments, prepares for seasonal and special occasion materials, allocates sufficient time for proofreading, and provides completed templates and files for pre-press preparation.
  • The Graphic Designer Translator ensures customer service standards are met for every passenger and crew interaction, ensuring commitment to the Company's Core Values and CRUISE program. They anticipate the needs of internal customers, address and resolve issues, troubleshoot issues, and provide production updates to ensure deadlines are met.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Requirements and skills
  • Proven work experience as a Translator, Interpreter or similar role.
  • Fluency in English and Japanese Languages.
  • Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling and punctuation errors.
  • Good knowledge of content editing tools.
  • Time-management skills
