The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily performance and service delivery of first and second shift janitorial operations. This role provides leadership, coaching, and operational direction to supervisors and frontline employees while ensuring contractual obligations, safety standards, quality expectations, and client requirements are consistently achieved.

Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
  • Provide direct leadership, guidance, and support to supervisors and frontline employees.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Motivate, coach, and develop employees to maximize performance and engagement.
  • Conduct performance reviews, establish clear expectations, provide coaching, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Support organizational change initiatives and communicate expectations effectively across all levels of the operation.

Client Relations & Service Delivery
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations and service level expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement and lead implementation of process enhancements.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client concerns or operational challenges.

Operational Excellence
  • Manage staffing levels, schedules, and work assignments to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Monitor operational performance and adjust resources as needed to meet business and customer requirements.
  • Conduct daily quality assurance inspections and ensure compliance with established quality standards.
  • Perform workflow and time studies to improve productivity, optimize labor utilization, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Support special projects and other operational initiatives as assigned.
  • Maintain flexibility to work varying shifts as needed to support operational coverage.

Safety & Compliance
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the operation.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Train and reinforce proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
  • Conduct safety observations, investigations, and corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure all employees adhere to established safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Workforce Administration
  • Continuously review employee timekeeping records to ensure compliance with schedules, attendance policies, and labor requirements.
  • Monitor workforce productivity and address attendance or performance concerns proactively.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to employee performance, training, and operational activities.

Qualifications
Required Experience
  • 3 to 5 years of operations, facilities, janitorial, or related management experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience managing teams in a service environment.

Knowledge & Skills
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and applicable regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and develop teams.
  • Proven ability to build productive relationships with clients, employees, and stakeholders.
