Job description

The Supervisor - Janitorial Operations is a frontline leadership role responsible for daily service execution, workforce management, safety compliance, reporting discipline, and customer experience at assigned sites.
This role is critical to ensuring that Pritchard's Operating Playbook is executed daily, that teams are properly staffed and trained, that time and attendance policies are followed, and that leadership has accurate, timely operational visibility through daily reporting and weekly roll-ups.
The Supervisor sets the tone for professionalism, accountability, and service excellence-representing the Pritchard standard to both employees and customers.
Key Responsibilities
Workforce Supervision & Staffing
• Supervise and coordinate daily work assignments and schedules for janitorial staff.
• Ensure time and attendance policies are strictly followed; review, validate, and submit daily/weekly timesheets accurately and on time.
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training of new and replacement staff.
• Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and corrective action as needed.
• Ensure adequate staffing coverage for routine operations, periodic work, absences, and special services.
Training & Playbook Compliance
• Train staff on proper cleaning methods, equipment use, chemical handling, and customer expectations.
• Ensure full compliance with the Pritchard Operating Playbook, with specific emphasis on:
o Workplace safety and OSHA standards
o PPE usage and chemical safety (SDS compliance)
o Quality standards and inspection readiness
• Reinforce standard work and escalate deviations immediately.
Safety & Quality Assurance
• Conduct daily site inspections and routine quality audits to ensure service standards are met.
• Perform and document safety inspections, ensuring hazards are identified, corrected, and reported.
• Monitor employee adherence to safety protocols, PPE usage, and safe work practices.
• Report incidents, near misses, injuries, and building deficiencies promptly per established procedures.
Inventory, Materials & Equipment Management
• Maintain accurate inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment at assigned locations.
• Track inventory levels, anticipate needs, and submit orders in accordance with approved processes.
• Identify and escalate ordering issues, shortages, or delays that may impact service delivery.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained, stored, and used safely.
Reporting & Communication Cadence
• Complete daily operational reporting, including but not limited to:
o Safety incidents or concerns
o Staffing status and coverage gaps
o Inspection results and quality issues
o Inventory levels and ordering challenges
o Customer feedback or service issues
• Prepare and submit a weekly roll-up report summarizing:
o Safety performance
o Staffing and attendance trends
o Inspection scores and quality outcomes
o Materials and inventory status
o Open issues, risks, and corrective actions
Customer Experience & Professional Standards
• Ensure the customer experience is world-class and consistently reflective of the Pritchard brand.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer requests, concerns, and special service needs.
• Conduct periodic walk-throughs with customers when appropriate and communicate outcomes to management.
• Maintain a professional presence and reinforce high standards of conduct, appearance, and service.
Qualifications & Experience
• Prior supervisory experience in janitorial or facility services operations required.
• Strong working knowledge of cleaning processes, safety standards, and workforce management.
• Experience with timekeeping systems, inspections, and operational reporting preferred.
• Ability to lead frontline teams with clarity, accountability, and consistency.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Physical & Work Requirements
• Ability to walk job sites, perform inspections, and lift/move supplies as required.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.
