Conducts regular inspections and identifies potential problems. Makes basic preventative and corrective repairs. Some roles are required to perform window washing tasks.

Job Description

Amentum is seeking two Industrial Full-Time Janitor in Sandy Springs, GA to provide the cleaning and upkeep of an assigned area for an industrial facility. The incumbents for these 2 vacancies will be hired for one of the following two shifts:

1st Shift 7:00am-3:30pm

2nd Shift 3:30pm-12midnight

Hiring hourly range target start: $16.00/hr. (hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data).

Daily duties and responsibilities:

• Cleans and maintains buildings/facilities.Performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing trash.
• Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
• Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
• Cleaner must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned.Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
• Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Utilizes ladders, dusts and washes furniture, walls, blinds and select equipment; cleans ceilings and dusts light fixtures and ceiling vents.
• Removes stains from surfaces such as carpet, drapes/shades, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• Prepares cleaning solutions per specifications.Strips, seals, finishes, and polishes floors.
• Cleans and vacuums carpeted areas, including application of spot cleaning treatment.
• Gathers trash and empties in appropriate trash and recycling bins.
• Wipes and cleans tabletops, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, etc.
• Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms.Cleans interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
• Keeps janitor's closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order.
• Monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and possibly checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
• Drives vehicles (if required) to perform or travel to other facilities to clean, including vans, industrial trucks, golf carts, or industrial vacuum cleaners.
• Provides special cleaning and support during client events, as needed.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• 1 year of relevant experience in industrial or commercial cleaning.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility/security credentials/authorization. Note: US citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
• This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
• May require a valid driver's license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Some Physical/Special requirements include:

• Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach and wrist movement.
• Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
• Regularly lift up to 30 lbs.
• Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions.
• Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to color coded cleaning microfiber clothes and mops.
• Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
• Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.

Preferred Qualifications
