Job Summary:
St. James Public Schools is seeking a full-time Elementary Teacher (1.0 FTE) for the 2026 2027 school year at Northside Elementary School. The specific grade-level assignment will be determined based on student needs, staffing, and the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Teach the curriculum of St. James Public Schools.
  • Carry out responsibilities established by the applicable master agreement.
  • Fulfill duties and responsibilities assigned by the building principal.
  • Maintain effective communication and positive working relationships with students, families, colleagues, and staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues through Professional Learning Communities to identify and respond to student needs.
  • Use student data to plan instruction, differentiate learning, and support student growth.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional learning through coursework, research, peer collaboration, and job-embedded professional development.
  • Support a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience:
  • Knowledge of structured literacy and Science of Reading practices.
  • Completion of LETRS or other Science of Reading training, or a willingness to participate in LETRS training.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Valid Minnesota teaching license appropriate for the elementary grade levels served, or eligibility to obtain appropriate licensure.
  • An equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience may be considered as permitted by applicable licensing requirements.
