Job description

Fertility Associates of Memphis is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented, full tim Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care within a reproductive medicine setting. This role utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in alignment with state nursing board scope of practice and the clinic's service philosophy.
The RN will coordinate and manage clinical activities related to infertility evaluation and treatment, working closely with physicians to support patient care throughout diagnostic testing, treatment cycles, procedures, and early pregnancy monitoring.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Deliver patient care aligned with the clinic's service excellence standards, demonstrating professionalism toward patients, families, staff, and physicians
  • Review and maintain accuracy of patient medical records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care activities
  • Support physicians during patient exams and procedures, including preparation of supplies and instruments
  • Perform phlebotomy, injections, and other clinical tasks as directed
  • Coordinate infertility diagnostic testing and treatment plans per physician direction
  • Communicate with patients regarding treatment cycles, calendars, medications, and test results
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients throughout their fertility journey
  • Follow up with patients after ultrasound scans and clinical procedures
  • Perform or assist with procedures as applicable (e.g., IUI, follicular ultrasounds, IV insertion, injections including SQ/IM, RhoGAM, Methotrexate administration)
  • Enter clinical documentation, physician orders, and patient interactions accurately into EMR
  • Ensure medication ordering and prior authorizations are completed appropriately
  • Track and verify completion of consents, lab work, and communicable disease testing
  • Educate patients on fertility treatments including IVF, FET, egg vitrification, and related protocols
  • Monitor early pregnancies through approximately 10 weeks gestation with appropriate documentation and follow-up
  • Ensure required medical clearances are obtained and documented prior to treatment initiation
  • Participate in on-call coverage as assigned
  • Assist with disability paperwork and other patient documentation needs
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and process enhancements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to interruptions
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (email, Word, spreadsheets) and ability to learn EMR systems
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Demonstrated professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to clinical protocols
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and service excellence

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma required
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, without restrictions
  • Current BLS certification
  • Continuing education requirements maintained per state licensing guidelines

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in women's health, fertility, OB/GYN, or reproductive endocrinology
  • 3+ years of overall nursing experience preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • May require working under stressful conditions and irregular hours
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids
  • Requires flexibility based on patient volume and clinical needs
  • Must demonstrate patience, compassion, and professionalism in patient interactions
  • Moderate noise level in clinical environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person and by phone
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements
  • Occasional heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to perform all essential clinical duties in a fast-paced outpatient setting
