Job description

NICU Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Type: Travel

Profession: Respiratory Therapy

Must-Have: Candidates must have adult respiratory experience in an acute care setting.

Description: This is a contract position for a NICU RRT. The assignment duration is 13 weeks. The shift is from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. No on-call requirements are necessary. Staffing includes 50 respiratory therapy professionals. During the day shift, there will be a supervisor and 7-9 staff members. Night shifts will have a supervisor and 7-9 staff members as well. Patient ratios are based on volume, approximately 35-40 patients per shift. Key equipment includes GE ventilators, V60 BiPAPs, and Airvo HFNC. EMR is managed through Meditech. Permanent positions are available on the unit. Standard procedures include nebulizers, CPT, arterial blood gases, ventilator management, inhaled nitric oxide, bronchoscopy assistance, intubation assistance, and transporting patients with mechanical ventilation within the facility. The ideal candidate must be able to collaborate effectively with team members in the respiratory therapy department and across other disciplines. The dress code consists of olive green tops and black pants. The work environment is competitive and offers opportunities for professional growth.
