They are responsible for ensuring that IT service management best practices are followed during project planning, execution, and delivery. Their role involves aligning IT services with the needs of the business, improving processes, and ensuring high-quality service delivery. They often coordinate between technical teams and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met efficiently and in compliance with ITIL standards.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an ITIL Project Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an ITIL Project Manager, you need a solid understanding of IT service management principles, project management methodologies, and typically hold certifications such as ITIL Foundation and PMP or PRINCE2. Strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills help manage teams and stakeholders successfully. These competencies are crucial for ensuring projects align with business objectives, run smoothly, and deliver consistent value to the organization.
