THE JOB:

The Purchasing Operations Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end purchasing activities across all spend categories, with direct oversight of the Buying and Item Setup teams. This role ensures operational efficiency, data integrity, and compliance while aligning procurement processes with corporate financial goals, CSR initiatives, and performance metrics. Through cross-functional collaboration and continuous process improvement, the manager drives strategic supplier engagement and enhances procurement execution to support overall business objectives.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

Provide managerial direction and guidance to Buyers and Item Setup Specialists, including workload distribution, efficient operating methods, training, and compliance with policies and procedures. Partner with Category Management and Strategic Sourcing teams to ensure successful execution of programs. Verify purchase requisitions, contracts, and item setups are compliant with sourcing strategies. The Purchasing Operations Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of all purchases and item data. This includes processing purchase requisitions, expediting purchase orders, and ensuring timely receipt creation. The role also involves reviewing invoice variances and maintaining accurate and complete item master data. Additionally, the manager oversees item setup for new products, catalog updates, and ensures the overall quality of master data. Oversee and ensure execution of KPIs for both teams, including PR-to-PO conversion time, PO percentage beyond due date, non-compliant POs, PO-to-invoice variance accuracy, and item set up quality metrics such as completeness, accuracy, and timeliness. Allocate team resources to meet the product, service, and item data needs of the business. Manage the Buyer team’s bidding process, supplier selection, and negotiations for purchase requisitions & tail-spend programs, ensuring tactical support for assigned category spend is executed effectively. Ensure that products, services, and item data meet quality expectations, are delivered on time, and align with customer needs while minimizing procurement-related business disruptions. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, addressing quality, service, delivery issues, and ongoing continuous improvement opportunities for both purchasing and item setup processes. Lead Human Resources responsibilities for assigned teams, fostering a work environment that promotes client service, teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction. Responsible for hiring, training, succession planning, and employee discipline while upholding the company’s diversity commitments. Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across both purchasing and item setup functions.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • Has a Bachelor's Degree
  • Have 2+ Years of prior relevant experience in Procurement/Sourcing or Supply Chain Management
  • Demonstrated background in all aspects of supply chain management, including experience conducting bid processes (RFI, RFP and informal bids) and negotiating short-term supplier agreements
  • Have 5+ Years of prior relevant experience in Procurement/Sourcing or Supply Chain Management - Preferred
  • Previous systems experience in Stratton Warren, Coupa, Oracle, and/or other E-Procurement technologies - Preferred
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting - Preferred
