Job Title: IT Technology Services Senior Specialist

Purpose and Objective:
SAP America, Inc. seeks an IT Technology Services Senior Specialist at our Houston, TX location to design and develop systems, applications, products, services and data to optimize and automate SAP's business processes and improve work efficiency.
Expectations and Tasks:
Engage with business stakeholders and other technology teams to deliver solutions to business requirements. Perform complex data and system development along with technology integration through learned technology coding languages. Facilitate the system, service, and product lifecycle, and ensure stable, secure, performant and high available operations for and between system and cloud services. Facilitate agile engagement with the business. Revise and update existing programs and provide required documentation. Enhance complex systems/processes. Represents SAP to customers. Communicates clearly and conveys processes & policies in a way that others can understand. Advocates for the end user by having a deep understanding of end user needs, behaviors & usage patterns. Promotes the role of User Experience, through understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies & practices and ability to integrate those into current and future development efforts. Develops and provides systems, applications, products and services to optimize/automate business processes, improve work efficiency and provides the expert support in operations. Revises and updates existing programs and provides required documentation. Facilitates the service lifecycle and product lifecycle. Execute technical feasibility studies and solution reviews. Define and review technical blueprint for internal IT projects. Customize and develop enhancements. Implement the solutions. Provide technical documentation. Execute and support problem management and continuous improvement. Participate in de-escalation activities. Contribute to the Build to Run engagement. Contribute to the definition of technical standards and frameworks.
Education and Occupational Experience:
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field of study and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:
Experience must include four (4) years involving each of the following:
  • Architect, build, test, maintain and operate SAP systems;
  • Driving SAP S/4HANA migration, upgrade, and conversion projects from on-premises or hybrid environments to cloud-native solutions across major hyperscalers including AWS, GCP Or Azure;
  • Facilitating expert support in software selection, technical planning, and vendor coordination, while guiding IT and SAP lifecycles with strategic insight;
  • Analyzing and implementing SAP support methodology and offering comprehensive knowledge on SAP S/4HANA architecture;
  • SAP High Availability and Disaster Recovery HA/DR architecture and utilizing load balancers and virtual machines for system resilience;
  • Addressing security risks, and resolving outages through root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions;
  • SAP cloud solutions and integration scenarios of SAP systems with SCP, Ariba, and SuccessFactors;
  • Driving strategic SAP direction by aligning Short & Long-term IT investments with business goals, coordinating vendors, and advising customer on technical needs;
  • Implementing and managing SAP Solution Manager, SAP Analytics Cloud, and secure authentication protocols (SSO, SPNEGO, and Kerberos) across complex landscapes; and
  • SOLMAN/FRUN, Cloud ALM, SAP Cockpit 2.0, and HDBCON Utility for landscape management, database monitoring, and system diagnostics.

License/Certification required: SAP Certified Technology Specialist - SAP S/4HANA Conversion and SAP System Upgrade 2020; and SAP Certified Technology Associate - SAP HANA 2.0.

The targeted combined range for this position is $149,718 - $245,600. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
