IT Systems Engineer
COMPANY OVERVIEW
SpectronRx is a growing Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) based in Indianapolis, Indiana, and production locations in South Bend, IN; Bunker Hill, IN; and Danbury, CT with plans for additional future production facilities. We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join our team. The Systems Engineer will work closely with our IT team and business owners to support and advance the technology landscape of the company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Manage and maintain the current technical environment including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Ubiquiti switches, AP’s, VPN’s, printers etc.
  • Be responsive to the employees’ break/fix problems.
  • Be able to support various scientific equipment and software.
  • Implement best practices for IT across the enterprise.
  • Deploy new technology and systems that will help the company scale and enable growth.
  • Perform backup and recovery tests of mission critical systems.
  • Participate in the analysis of business needs.
  • Recommend innovative technology solutions while actively participating in firm-wide IT initiatives.
  • Perform system upgrades in collaboration with external service providers as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to standardize technologies and processes.
  • Work with hardware/software vendors to keep up with changes in hardware, software and bug fixes and security vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain infrastructure standards documentation as it relates to infrastructure systems design, configuration, support, and processes.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex configuration and troubleshooting issues within a multi-vendor infrastructure.
  • Provide operational escalation support for the firm's critical business systems.
  • Proactive health monitoring of critical business systems and technologies.
  • Remain current with emerging trends in technology.
  • On occasion, you will need to participate in after-hours support.
  • Other duties as assigned to fully meet the requirements of the position.
  • Physical Ability – Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time and stand for prolonged periods.

TRAVEL
  • Regular travel is expected about 10% of the time.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • BS Information Technology or related discipline.
  • Certifications in networking, SharePoint, O365, security or other related technologies.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license.
  • Pass a Background Check.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
