Job description

IT Support & Systems Administrator

Location: Albertville, Alabama
Company: Aviation Service Partners (ASP)
Position Type: Full-Time

About the Position

Aviation Service Partners (ASP) is seeking a knowledgeable and dependable IT Support & Systems Administrator to support our growing organization in Albertville, Alabama.

This position will serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day IT needs across ASP. The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing hands-on technical support to employees, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing company computers and equipment, administering user accounts and access, and helping ensure our technology infrastructure remains secure, organized, and reliable.

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of ASP's daily IT operations while providing responsive and professional support to employees at all levels of the organization.

What You'll Be Doing

The IT Support & Systems Administrator will be responsible for supporting ASP's employees, computer systems, equipment, software, and day-to-day technology needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee IT support and help desk requests.
  • Troubleshoot computer, software, network, printer, email, and connectivity issues.
  • Set up computers, laptops, monitors, printers, mobile devices, and other company technology.
  • Prepare and configure equipment for new employees.
  • Manage employee user accounts, passwords, permissions, and system access.
  • Assist HR with IT requirements during employee onboarding and offboarding.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of company computers, phones, monitors, accessories, and other IT assets.
  • Track equipment assignments and ensure company property is properly issued and returned.
  • Coordinate the purchase and replacement of computers, software, peripherals, and other technology.
  • Work with company leadership to evaluate technology needs and recommend equipment or system improvements.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and update company software and applications.
  • Provide support for Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and other Microsoft applications.
  • Assist with network, Wi-Fi, VPN, and remote-access issues.
  • Manage printers, scanners, conference-room technology, and other office equipment.
  • Assist with software licensing and subscription management.
  • Maintain appropriate user access and permissions to company systems.
  • Help implement and maintain cybersecurity best practices, including password security, multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection, and employee security awareness.
  • Assist with data backup, recovery, and business continuity procedures.
  • Troubleshoot technology issues at ASP facilities and coordinate with outside vendors when additional support is required.
  • Maintain documentation of IT systems, equipment, procedures, passwords/access controls, and troubleshooting processes as appropriate.
  • Identify recurring technology problems and recommend long-term solutions.
  • Support ASP leadership with technology projects and system implementations.
  • Perform other IT-related duties as needed to support company operations.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, systems administration, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows-based computers and Microsoft applications.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments preferred.
  • Experience setting up and troubleshooting computers, printers, networks, and peripheral equipment.
  • Understanding of user account management, permissions, and access control.
  • Basic understanding of networking, including Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, VPNs, and network troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience with IT asset and inventory management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems independently and determine when escalation or outside support is necessary.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical employees.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion when working with company systems and confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of ASP's day-to-day IT needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, or similar IT certifications.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Experience with endpoint management or Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms.
  • Experience supporting multiple company locations or remote employees.
  • Experience managing IT vendors, equipment purchasing, or technology budgets.
  • Experience working in aviation, manufacturing, maintenance, or another operational environment is a plus.

What Success Looks Like

The successful candidate will be someone ASP employees can depend on when they have a technology problem. They will take ownership of issues, communicate clearly, maintain accurate control of company equipment and access, and look for opportunities to improve our technology rather than simply reacting when something breaks.

This individual should be comfortable working independently while also knowing when to involve outside IT vendors or leadership.

Why Join Aviation Service Partners?

At Aviation Service Partners, we provide highly skilled Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Records, Project Management, and support teams to the aviation industry.

As ASP continues to grow, reliable technology and responsive IT support are increasingly important to our employees and operations. This position provides an opportunity to take ownership of an important function within the company and help develop IT processes and systems that can grow alongside the organization.

If you're a hands-on IT professional who enjoys solving problems, supporting people, and improving the way technology is managed, we'd like to hear from you.

Aviation Service Partners is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
