Job description

The IT Specialist position uses IT knowledge and customer service skills to provide technical support and solve IT-related problems. This individual demonstrates desktop computer experience, good judgement, and initiative to support users and resolve their IT issues. The IT Specialist works well both as part of a team and independently, successfully completing complex tasks with only general guidance on assignments and solutions and meeting all deadlines.

THE DAY TO DAY

Oversee the operations of the dealership-wide computer system and related peripherals

Coordinate with third-party vendors to monitor and maintain the network, directories, phone, and security systems

Install desktops, laptops, peripherals, and software for networked and standalone environments

Coordinate IT equipment installation and maintenance with department managers to minimize disruption

Detect, diagnose, and resolve desktop and laptop hardware/software issues

Analyze IT service requests and provide prompt, effective solutions

Conduct IT audits as assigned

Communicate clearly with users via phone, email, and in person

THE RIGHT FIT

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

2–4 years of IT support or systems administration experience
