Responsibilities

Nicholas J. Ryan & Associates, in-house counsel for State Farm, announces the Summer 2027 Intern Program for the Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Claims Litigation Counsel office. Claims Litigation Counsel attorneys defend State Farm and its customers who have been sued. Summer interns work with attorneys on assigned projects, attend case events, and observe every phase of the litigation process. They benefit from mentoring throughout the summer, gain a balanced and realistic understanding of the function of Claims Litigation Counsel, and develop real-world civil litigation skills. This full-time internship runs from Wednesday, June 2, 2027, through Wednesday, August 11, 2027. We work in a hybrid environment with required presence in the office as well as some time working from home. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs.

Located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, we enjoy an active civil trial practice throughout Palm Beach and Broward Counties.  We provide a congenial and team-oriented professional work environment with skilled support staff.


Qualifications
  • 2L students enrolled in an ABA accredited law school.  Interns must remain enrolled for the duration of the internship. 
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Strong research skills including familiarity with Lexis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Pay: $33/hour.  In addition, interns selected for our summer internship program will be eligible for a $2,000 stipend!
  • Work Arrangement: HYBRID - Selected interns should plan to spend time working in the office as well as some time working from home.  Please note that relocation benefits will not apply.
  • Office Location: 900 S. Pine Island Road, Plantation, FL 33324
