Job description

About Us

We're a small, growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Denver, supporting a wide range of local businesses with their IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and cloud solutions. Our clients rely on us to keep their systems secure, efficient, and resilient — and we rely on our team to make that happen.

We value collaboration, integrity, and curiosity. If you enjoy solving complex problems, mentoring others, and owning meaningful work in a fast-paced but supportive environment, you'll fit right in here.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you'll be the technical backbone of our team. You'll lead infrastructure projects across multiple client environments, serve as the escalation point for junior engineers, and help shape how we deliver and grow our services. This is a hands-on role with real ownership — you'll be both a trusted advisor to clients and a go-to resource for your teammates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and lead client infrastructure projects from scoping through delivery, coordinating timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication.
  • Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex technical issues across servers, networks, endpoints, and cloud environments.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, reviewing their work, sharing knowledge, and helping them grow.
  • Design, configure, and maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Deploy and manage firewalls, switches, and VPN solutions (CheckPoint, HPE, Cisco, SonicWALL experience a plus).
  • Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity tooling (EDR, MFA, encryption, etc.).
  • Lead client onboarding engagements and drive adoption of IT best practices.
  • Contribute to documentation standards and internal knowledge base quality.
  • Occasionally visit client sites around the Denver metro area for installations, assessments, and project work.

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in systems administration, IT engineering, or MSP environments.
  • Proven ability to lead technical projects and manage competing priorities across multiple clients.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Windows Server, and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with RMM and PSA tools (ConnectWise, NinjaOne, or similar).
  • Comfortable acting as a mentor and escalation resource for junior team members.
  • Excellent communication skills — you can translate technical complexity for both clients and colleagues.
  • A proactive, ownership-oriented mindset.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local client visits.

Nice to Have

  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft 365, Azure Administrator, or similar.
  • Experience with Datto, SentinelOne, SIEM platforms, or other security tooling.
  • Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud migrations.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience ($110,000–$130,000 range).
  • Flexible work environment with remote work options after onboarding.
  • Paid time off, holidays, and health benefits.
  • Ongoing training, certification reimbursement, and a clear path for career growth.
  • A collaborative team where your experience and opinions genuinely shape how we work.

How to Apply

Submit your resume and a brief cover letter describing your experience in MSP environments, a project you led end-to-end, and what excites you about this role.
