Overview:
The Release Manager in the Payments and Merchant Services Group with client is responsible for managing the end-to-end release process, ensuring the smooth and efficient deployment of software updates, patches, and new features. The role involves close coordination with development, QA, operations, and business teams to deliver high-quality releases within stipulated timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Release Planning and Coordination:

- Develop and maintain a comprehensive release calendar, coordinating with various teams to align release schedules.
- Lead release planning meetings and manage the release process from development through to production deployment.
Deployment Management:
- Oversee the deployment of software releases, patches, and updates, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
- Implement and manage release deployment pipelines and automation tools.
Quality Assurance and Risk Management:
- Collaborate with QA teams to ensure thorough testing and validation of releases.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with releases, ensuring compliance with internal policies and standards.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for release-related activities, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between development, QA, operations, and business teams.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve release management processes and tools.
- Implement best practices and industry standards to enhance release efficiency and reliability.
Incident Management:
- Manage and resolve release-related incidents, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal impact on services.
- Conduct post-release reviews to identify areas for improvement and document lessons learned.
Required Skills and Experience:
Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and release management processes.
- Experience with deployment automation tools and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Industry Knowledge:
