Job description

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
About our Team:
The IT Project Management function at Micron Technology brings leadership, structure, and critical thinking to sophisticated programs across the organization. The team operates within a matrixed environment, partnering closely with business and technical collaborators to deliver central initiatives and uplift delivery capability across the PMO.
Position Overview:
As an IT Project Manager, you will lead projects with minimal assistance through all phases including initiation, planning, execution, and closure. This role is responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget while acting as the primary liaison between business and technical teams. You will manage risks, dependencies, and collaborator engagement while ensuring adherence to governance and operating models.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end project lifecycle including initiation, planning, execution, and closure, ensuring alignment to timelines, budget, and quality standards.
  • Develop and manage key project artifacts including project charter, project plan, communication plan, RAID log, test plan, release plan, and data conversion plan.
  • Establish governance, track progress across development, SOE, ITC, and UAT phases, and provide regular status updates while advancing risks and issues appropriately.
  • Collaborate with collaborators, solution leads, vendors, and technical teams to define scope, manage dependencies, and remove blockers in a matrixed environment.
  • Drive project execution rigor including change control, collaborator communication, executive reporting, and successful launch, hypercare, and project closure activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently across initiation, planning, execution, and closure phases with on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Proven experience creating and managing project documentation including RACI matrices, project charters, RAID logs, and detailed project plans.

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams, vendors, and collaborators in a matrixed organization.
  • Ability to track project metrics, manage scope, and enforce change control to prevent scope creep and ensure delivery quality.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading sophisticated enterprise-level transformation projects, specifically SAP or S/4HANA implementations.
  • Experience leading large-scale, global enterprise transformation or innovation programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organization with strong collaborator influence and executive presentation skills.
