Job Summary
Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC consists of five divisions including Advanced Electrical Technologies (AET), Taurus Power and Controls (Taurus), Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS), Pacific Northern Environmental Construction (PNEC), and WasteXpress Environmental (WXE). Together, we specialize in commercial and petroleum construction, industrial and commercial electrical, industrial cleaning, and hazardous waste disposal. PNE LLC is a multi-state organization with operating offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Hawaii. In addition, we carry out projects across the United States.

We are seeking a skilled and dependable IT Specialist to join our team and provide responsive, high-quality technical support across our organization. This role is critical to keeping our people connected and our systems running, and requires strong problem-solving ability, a customer-first mindset, and a solid foundation in networking, Microsoft technologies, and endpoint management.
This position is 100% ON-SITE in Longview, Washington and not eligible for relocation assistance.
Education and Experience Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a daily IT Help Desk or IT support role.
  • High school diploma required; relevant associate's or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including OneDrive and SharePoint troubleshooting.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID / Active Directory user and group management.
  • Experience with firewall configurations and network setup and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of Windows operating system administration.
  • Familiarity with DNS configurations and common network troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proven help desk experience with a demonstrated focus on customer service excellence.
  • Organized and dependable with the ability to manage multiple open tickets and competing priorities without losing momentum.
  • Collaborative and proactive - works well with colleagues across departments and escalates appropriately when issues exceed scope.
  • Experience with SCCM or other endpoint management tools is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as first-line support for hardware and software issues, resolving technical problems efficiently and with minimal disruption to end users.
  • Manage and maintain local area networks (LAN), ensuring reliable connectivity and optimal performance across office locations.
  • Assist with the configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of firewalls and network equipment; travel to other office locations in the area as needed.
  • Support Windows operating systems, including installation, updates, user account management, and resolution of OneDrive and SharePoint issues.
  • Create and manage user accounts and permissions in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) with appropriate security levels.
  • Configure and manage company iPhones and iPads for end users, ensuring device compliance with company standards.
  • Utilize help desk software to log, track, and document issues and resolutions, maintaining accurate and thorough records.
  • Perform routine remote maintenance on systems to ensure security, performance, and stability.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating clearly and proactively with users to understand needs and set accurate expectations.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
The candidate must possess and be adaptable to the following physical abilities and working conditions:
  • On-site position at the Longview, WA office; occasional remote flexibility as operationally appropriate.
  • Occasional travel to other PNE office locations within Washington, and periodically to Oregon or Idaho, as needed for equipment setup, network support, or on-site troubleshooting.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a desk or workstation.
  • Ability to move throughout office environments as needed; move, lift, or carry IT equipment and hardware up to 30 lbs.
  • Occasionally required to crouch, kneel, or work in confined spaces to access cabling, servers, or hardware installations.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend stairs or ladders when accessing network closets or equipment rooms.
  • Ability to operate standard technological devices including computers, monitors, keyboards, and mobile devices throughout the workday.
