Job description

Olivine is seeking a dynamic and experienced IT Manager to execute and drive the strategic direction of our corporate information technology. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of staff computing Windows systems, installed applications, cloud services, and cybersecurity while mentoring and growing the IT team as appropriate. You blend hands on technical expertise with leadership skills, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization.The interview process will require an in-person interview with a member of the hiring team.

What You Will Do:
  • Collaboration and Problem Solving: Collaborate with other teams to identify and resolve technical issues, contributing to a seamless and efficient IT operation; manage the internal IT help desk, participating in capacity and coverage planning, triage, and ticket resolution.
  • Technical Leadership; Hands-on Contribution: Provide technical leadership in the management and optimization of our environment including software tools and systems licensing. While leading the team, this role requires a hands-on approach to resolving problems.
  • Cybersecurity Oversight: Monitor and enforce IT security measures and provide training to staff, identify and mitigate potential security risks relating to corporate IT to protect company data and systems, and oversee and manage the SOC-2 and ISO-27001 compliance programs.
  • Team Leadership; Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and coach IT staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Provide guidance on professional development and career growth.
  • Asset Management: Manage staff compute-systems equipment inventory, ensuring staff have end-computing needs met, including supplying equipment for new staff, replacing as appropriate, returning to inventory, etc.
  • Strategic Communication: Effectively communicate technical updates, challenges, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Oversee and manage IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Proactive System Management: Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in our systems and processes, ensuring optimal performance and security.
What You Bring
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring a technical team, while also keeping hands on skills current and up to date.
  • 7+ years of experience in IT operations, security, or systems administration
  • Experience with oversight and administration of SOC 2 and ISO-27001 compliance frameworks
  • Experience monitoring security risks, vulnerabilities, and responding to incidents
  • Proficient with Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and the full Microsoft 365 suite
  • Strong understanding of technology infrastructures, including Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS, Microsoft endpoint security.
  • Proficiency managing SaaS tools and enterprise IT environments ( Google Workspace, Teams, Zoho, Jira, etc.).
  • Demonstrated project and program management experience.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting end-user device and application issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
