Job description

The OTS Deployment Program Management team plans and executes large-scale IT Infrastructure projects for all Amazon Operations customers, including Fulfillment, Transportation, and Logistics. We focus on the design, procurement, deployment, and lifecycle of IT infrastructure and equipment. We work with cross-functional peer groups in Operations Engineering, Real Estate/Construction, WW Engineering, IT Infrastructure Engineering, Tech Deployment, and Field IT Teams to implement new facility launches, expansions, decommissions, and deployment of new business solutions.


As a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager, you will manage projects or programs that primarily require building, deploying, and interacting with physical IT infrastructure. As a TIPM for Deployment, you will own programs ranging from New Site Launch to Engineering to Customer Programs. You will problem solve IT infrastructure build risks/issues with technical delivery teams and engineers.

In this role, you will work closely with various stakeholders to create efficiencies for the customer, manage scope creep, manage IT budget, and meet IT milestone deliverables with limited impact to schedule.
Projects will be in disparate geographic locations and require your use of excellent communication skills to coordinate onsite and remote work with resources. You will serve as a single point of contact for the project team and for the end-to-end IT project management and execution.


Key job responsibilities
Develop and manage IT Programs from beginning to end, including project scope, timeline, capacity planning, resource allocation, and project execution.
Provide project management and direction to ensure the project teams have clear knowledge of IT timelines, risks, escalation path and deliverables they will undertake within the project team.
Act as an escalation point for the project teams and project stakeholders.


Maintain knowledge regarding IT hardware and equipment standards to ensure appropriate orders are delivered by need by dates.
Proactively manage change control and communicate impact on project scope, identify risks & issues, and devising contingency plans.
Identify and manage project deliverables and critical paths.


Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones
Track and communicate program/project milestones, deliverables, and risks.
Provide on-site monitoring and enforcement of install schedules and vendor quality, inspect prospective and completed facilities in accordance with corporate standards and procedures, and ensure proper follow-up.
Facilitate formal turn-over with onsite teams, business partners and monitor deliverables until launch/project milestone is achieved.


Daily communication and partnership with internal/external stakeholders.
Update or develop documentation on processes that are critical to successful execution of your projects.
This role will require travel (~50-70%).
