Job description

IT Project Manager
Location: Brentwood / Nashville, TN
LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY. Applicants must already be within daily commuting distance of Brentwood, TN.
This is an onsite position in Brentwood, TN.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $70,000 to $90,000 base salary, depending on experience
About the Opportunity
A well-established Managed Services Provider in the Franklin / Nashville area is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to help lead client-facing technology projects from kickoff through completion.
This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys working in a smaller, fast-moving MSP or IT services environment where organization, communication, client management, and technical coordination all matter. The right person does not need to be the deepest engineer in the room, but they do need to understand IT infrastructure well enough to coordinate technical teams, identify risks, manage client expectations, and keep projects moving.
The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients during project engagements and will coordinate internal engineers, technicians, sales, and support teams to deliver IT projects on time, within scope, and on budget.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end project delivery for client technology initiatives.
Manage projects involving areas such as Microsoft 365, Azure, cloud migrations, network upgrades, cybersecurity implementations, hardware rollouts, software deployments, and client onboarding.
Develop project plans including scope, timelines, resource needs, risk management, communication plans, and budgets.
Serve as the main client contact during project engagements, providing regular status updates and managing expectations.
Coordinate internal technical resources including engineers, technicians, sales, and support staff.
Track milestones, timelines, risks, blockers, dependencies, labor, materials, and third-party costs.
Facilitate kickoff meetings, project status meetings, and post-project review meetings.
Manage project documentation including statements of work, change orders, status reports, and project closeout notes.
Help ensure projects are completed profitably and handed off cleanly to the managed services operations team.
Improve project management processes, templates, communication rhythms, and documentation standards over time.
Qualifications
3+ years of project management experience, preferably in an MSP, IT services, consulting, VAR, or technology services environment.
Experience managing client-facing IT projects.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities.
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, cybersecurity, and related technology concepts.
Comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience coordinating engineers or technical resources.
Experience with project management tools such as ConnectWise, Autotask, Monday.com, Asana, Smartsheet, Jira, MS Project, or similar platforms.
PSA/RMM tool experience is a plus.
PMP, CompTIA Project+, Agile, or Scrum certification is preferred but not required.
Ideal Background
Current or recent MSP Project Manager, IT Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Implementation Project Manager, Service Delivery Coordinator, Technical Account Manager, or similar role.
Experience in an MSP, IT services, consulting, cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, or professional services environment.
Strong client communication skills and the ability to manage scope, expectations, timelines, and change orders.
Local to the Brentwood / Nashville area and comfortable working.
Comfortable with a salary range of $70,000 to $90,000.
Why This Could Be a Good Fit
This is a growth-oriented role with a stable local technology services company. It is a good opportunity for someone who wants ownership, client interaction, and exposure to a variety of infrastructure and cloud projects without being buried in a large corporate environment.
