Job description

IT Hardware Asset Management Analyst

Austin, TX (Hybrid)

Client is looking for a qualified BSA with skills and focus on IT Hardware Asset Management best practices. This staff person will be reporting to the ITAM Program Manager to lead a citywide effort, to centralize hardware management, implement strategies to reduce total cost of ownership and ensure the adoption of hardware best practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with establishing a centralized HAM strategy that includes development of an approved list of Hardware and an associated implementation plan. This plan should address, at a minimum, the lifecycle phases, funding aggregation, and other considerations, including the use of lease agreements.
  • Assist with developing and executing the ITAM programโ€™s Hardware management centralization plan to centralize license management, implement strategies to reduce duplication, and ensure the adoption of hardware management best practices where possible.
  • Assist with establishing policy and procedures for hardware agreements and licenses.
  • Assist with implementing strategies to reduce duplication of citywide Hardware.
  • Assist in developing an assessment and approval process to determine the cost and benefit of purchasing Hardware maintenance programs. The process should include a means of assessing operational impacts and risks, including information security and privacy.
  • Assist with developing a Digital Media Library (DML) best practice to maintain current hardware versions and images.
  • Assist in developing a process to respond to hardware vendor audits, license validation requests, and theft and fraud investigations.
  • Assist in developing methodologies, policies, and practices for Hardware asset life cycle management.
What You Need To Have:
  • Three to five years of experience in IT Asset Management/Hardware Asset Management, and discovery tools.
  • Knowledge of specific vendor licensing schemes from vendors such as Dell, Hewlett Packard, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with system Knowledge of IT support tools such as ITSM, SCCM as well as ITIL processes.
  • Experience with ITSM work-flow management tools like ServiceNow\Jira, etc.
  • Leverage knowledge of Hardware deployment, device inventory, Hardware asset management (SCCM, ADDM).
  • Working knowledge of NIST security best practices.
Preferred Education/Experience Requirements:
  • College degree in business or technology preferred.
  • Certified Hardware Asset Manager or Certified IT Asset Manager preferred.
  • Background and understanding of IT processes and infrastructure, including but not limited to IT Asset Management with a focus on inventory life cycle, practices, and management.
