Job description

Sr. Infrastructure and IT Engineer

Palo Alto, CA | Bellevue, WA | Onsite

NTT DATA AIVista, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of NTT DATA, is based in Silicon Valley. We develop AI products that operationalize AI across enterprises operating in complex regulatory environments. We partner with other NTT companies (NTT DATA Inc., NTT DATA Japan, NTT Docomo) to ensure successful deployment to NTT clients. Our clients benefit from AIVista's deep product AI expertise combined with the industry domain and systems integration experience of NTT DATA.

Role Description

The Senior IT Engineer will own the day-to-day IT operations of NTT DATA AIVista’s Bellevue office and support our broader workforce, ensuring employees have reliable, secure, and well-managed technology. This is a hands-on role at a fast-moving AI startup covering endpoint and device management, identity and access, SaaS administration, IT help desk, and the day-to-day operation of our security and compliance controls.

You will operate and maintain the security and compliance controls defined by our Security team — running our compliance tooling, collecting evidence, and keeping our environment audit-ready — while partnering closely with IT, Security, and Engineering. This role is cloud-literate but focused on IT operations and compliance execution rather than cloud infrastructure engineering.

ResponsibilitiesIT Operations
  • Own employee onboarding and offboarding IT processes end-to-end, including device provisioning and access setup.

  • Manage endpoint security and MDM (zero-touch deployment, device compliance).

  • Administer identity and access management systems including SSO, MFA, YubiKeys, and 1Password.

  • Manage SaaS platforms including Notion, Slack, Microsoft 365, Ramp, DocuSign, Zoom, and AI productivity tools (ChatGPT, Claude).

  • Own IT asset inventory, purchasing, and lifecycle management.

  • Own IT setup, infrastructure, and support for the Bellevue office, and support the wider workforce.

  • Manage IT help desk and support ticket resolution via Linear; own SLA performance and reporting.

Compliance & Security Operations
  • Operate day-to-day compliance in Vanta (or similar): evidence collection, continuous control monitoring, and alert remediation.

  • Implement and maintain IT controls in support of SOC 2 and ISO 27011 programs owned by the Security team.

  • Run periodic user access reviews and remediate access gaps.

  • Apply security baselines and policies defined by the Security team across endpoints, identity, and SaaS.

  • Support NTT DATA group IT and security compliance requirements.

  • Maintain IT controls documentation.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and implement process improvements to scale IT operations as the company grows.

  • Support executive meetings and onsite events with IT logistics.

Qualifications
  • 5-8 years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or IT engineering.

  • Hands-on experience with MDM platforms (Jamf, Intune, or equivalent) and zero-touch device deployment.

  • Strong experience with identity and access management (Okta, Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD, or equivalent), MFA, and SSO.

  • Proficiency administering SaaS platforms such as Microsoft 365, Slack, Notion, and Google Workspace.

  • Hands-on experience operating compliance/security tooling (Vanta or similar), with working familiarity of SOC 2 and/or ISO 27001 controls.

  • Experience running access reviews, collecting audit evidence, and maintaining IT controls documentation.

  • Cloud-literate: comfortable with cloud console and IAM basics (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) to support access, identity, and integrations — infrastructure engineering is not required.

  • Experience managing IT ticketing systems (Linear, Jira, or equivalent) and owning SLA accountability.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment with a high degree of autonomy.

  • Experience at a technology or AI company is preferred.

Benefits
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • 401(k) plan

  • Significant company HSA contribution

  • Paid holidays and flexible PTO

Compensation Range

The estimated annual base salary range for this role is $150,000–$190,000 USD. The salary for the successful applicant will depend on job-related factors such as education, training, work experience, business needs, and market demands. This range may be modified in the future. Total compensation also includes variable pay in the form of an annual target bonus and other cash incentives, with a combined potential of up to 40% of base salary.
