JCSC IT Department Administrative Assistant
Position Summary
The IT Department Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive clerical, organizational,
and customer service support to the school corporation's Information Technology Department.
This role ensures efficient day-to-day operations by coordinating communication, maintaining
records, assisting with technology-related requests, and supporting IT staff in delivering high-
quality services to students, staff, and administrators.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
? Serve as the primary point of contact for the IT Department, answering phones, emails,
and help desk inquiries.
? Maintain and monitor the IT help desk/ticketing system; assign, track, and follow up on
service requests.
? Provide front-line customer service and basic troubleshooting guidance to staff and
students.
? Maintain accurate records of technology inventory, including devices, licenses, and
warranties.
? Assist with ordering technology equipment and supplies; process purchase orders and
invoices in accordance with school policies.
? Coordinate scheduling of IT staff for service calls, projects, and school visits.
? Prepare and maintain reports, spreadsheets, and documentation related to IT operations.
? Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including device distribution and
account setup coordination.
? Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, including student and staff data.
? Support the Director of Technology and IT staff with clerical and administrative tasks.
? Organize and maintain department files, both digital and physical.
? Assist in coordinating technology-related events, trainings, and meetings.
? Ensure compliance with district policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal
regulations.
Qualifications
? High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
? Previous administrative assistant or office experience required; experience in a school or
IT environment preferred.
? Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
? Familiarity with help desk or ticketing systems preferred.
? Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and common technology
terminology.
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
? Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
? Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
