Job Summary:
DataSoft Technologies, Inc. is a highly recognized provider of professional IT Consulting services in the US. They are seeking an experienced Database Administrator with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in SQL database administration to manage database problems, carry out maintenance, and ensure performance and security of databases.
Responsibilities:
• seeking an experienced technically skilled database administrator with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in SQL database administration. In this role, the DBA will be the respondent to database problems that arise and carry out periodic maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Help write and optimize in-application SQL statements Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases Prepare documentations and specifications Handle common database procedures such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
• Profile server resource usage and optimize and tweak as necessary Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders. Good verbal communication skills.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in SQL database administration.
• Responding in a timely manner to user-reported errors.
• Protecting the database against threats or unauthorized access.
• Ensuring that the database is adequately backed up and able to be recovered in the event of memory loss.
• Reporting on metrics regarding usage and performance.
• Suggesting changes and improvements for database maintenance or protection.
• Regularly liaising with IT project managers and database programmers.
• Designing databases with both front-end and back-end users in mind.
• Experience with some of the modern relational databases.
• Skilled at optimizing large complicated SQL statements.
• Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases.
• Capable of configuring popular database engines and orchestrating clusters as necessary.
• Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications.
• Capable of troubleshooting common database issues.
• Familiar with tools that can aid with profiling server resource usage and optimizing.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GitLab.
• Familiar with SISS packages.
