This is one of the most influential technology leadership roles in the company, partnering directly with executive leadership, business leaders, product teams, cybersecurity, engineering, data, and operations organizations to create a modern architecture strategy that enables growth, resilience, security, scalability, and AI-driven innovation across global markets.
The SVP Global Chief IT Architecture is responsible for leading enterprise architecture functions across application, solution, data, and cloud domains, while guiding innovation, defining standards, and ensuring architectural governance across all technology initiatives.
  • Enterprise Strategy & Leadership
    • Establish and lead the enterprise technology architecture vision and roadmap
    • Provide significant input into GM Financial's overall technology strategy and direction
    • Align architecture strategy with business priorities and corporate objectives
    • Advise executive leadership on emerging technologies and industry trends
  • Architecture Governance & Standards
    • Establish architectural governance, standards, and decision frameworks
    • Ensure proper governance routines and compliance with standards
    • Define and maintain enterprise-wide architecture patterns and best practices

    • Lead modernization of core applications, platforms, and infrastructure

Qualifications
What Makes You An Ideal Candidate?
  • Strong expertise across enterprise architecture, cloud, data, AI/ML platforms, cybersecurity, and integration architecture
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture patterns (e.g., microservices, APIs) and design methodologies
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Work Experience and Education:
  • 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience required
  • 10+ years leading enterprise architecture in large global organizations required
  • Significant experience in regulated industries such as financial services preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Normal office environment with some travel as needed
