What We Are Looking For
GVEC is looking to hire you for the position of IT Application Administrator to deliver the unexpected with a willingness to continuously develop yourself, your department, and our organization. As an IT Application Administrator, you will manage and support our core business, financial and billing applications. This includes application configuration, upgrades, integrations and related vendor management. The IT Application Administrator is responsible for a variety of business-critical applications and services, ensuring they run reliably and securely for our internal users. The IT Application Administrator is required to provide problem analysis, project planning and coordination, as well as application support, vendor management and customer support to our internal users. This person should possess a strong knowledge of business application administration, relational databases, and the Microsoft 365 app suite.
Your Pay
The minimum starting pay for this role is $83,000 per year, plus bonuses that are tied to a multitude of organizational benchmarks set forth annually. Pay will be determined by skills, qualifications and experience.
How You'll Help
  • Deliver best-in-class customer service to ensure that our people and solutions can move swiftly to deliver the unexpected
  • Administer, configure, and maintain GVEC's business and service applications: including user provisioning, permissions, and workflow configuration
  • Administer core ERP, financial, and ISP/utility billing systems, ensuring data integrity, uptime, and accurate integration with downstream systems
  • Design and implement disaster recovery procedures necessary to recover applications within approved timeframes
  • Support and maintain application servers and databases, both physical and virtual, in coordination with the infrastructure team
  • Write and maintain scripts for automation using PowerShell and SQL
  • Assist with the development of standards, policies and procedures to ensure application and data integrity
  • Manage application upgrades, patches, and vendor-driven releases, including testing and change coordination
  • Perform off-hours scheduled maintenance
  • Participate in the on-call rotation
  • Provide support to 24x7 business for mission-critical applications
  • Share technical expertise by providing cross-training to other peers
  • Participate in Helpdesk level 2 support
  • Provide support for other projects and duties as assigned
  • Troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of application issues: from frontline helpdesk requests to complex integration and system challenges
  • Create technical documentation and disaster recovery procedures for assigned applications

Experience/Skills You'll Need
  • Experience administering SaaS and cloud-based business applications
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory and user/group provisioning within business applications
  • Experience administering ERP, financial, or utility billing/CIS platforms
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and basic SQL for reporting, troubleshooting, and data validation
  • Experience managing application upgrades, patches, and vendor release cycles
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, including support tickets, SLAs, and license renewals
  • Familiarity with ITSM/ticketing platforms and change management processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and confidently
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; able to effectively troubleshoot issues independently
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively evaluate and manage conflicting priorities
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic - able to work independently with an impeccable sense of honesty and integrity
  • Team player with the resolve to provide and take constructive criticism that helps evolve the team

Preferred Experience/Skills
  • Experience in maintaining Office 365 and Power BI environments
  • 2+ years of experience administering business, financial, or utility billing applications
  • Experience with ITIL-aligned service management practices (incident, change, and problem management)
  • Experience in the electric utility, cooperative, or ISP industry
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant area
