Our organization systems are marketed under the Inspired Closets, ORG Home, Gorgeous Garage, ProClosets, EasyClosets, EasyGarage, Easy Track, and Garage Essentials brand names. 

The Stow Company is currently seeking qualified candidates for an IT Application Tester located in Holland, MI.  We are the country’s premier source for custom closets and organizational solutions; designed, custom-cut, and shipped directly to our clients. 

Primary Purpose of Position 

The IT Application Tester is responsible for validating the quality and functionality of business applications by creating and executing test plans, documenting results, identifying defects, and ensuring system changes meet business requirements prior to deployment. This role works closely with business users, analysts, developers, and support teams to improve application reliability and reduce production issues. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities 

  • Develop and execute test cases for application enhancements, projects, and defect corrections. 
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing activities. 
  • Document, track, and validate application defects through resolution. 
  • Collaborate with business users, analysts, and developers to understand and validate requirements. 
  • Create and maintain testing documentation, evidence, and status reports. 
  • Support continuous improvement of testing processes and standards. 
  • Lives Company values on a daily basis.   
  • Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of themselves, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.

Basic Qualifications 

Education & Experience 

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, or related fields are preferred. 
  • 1–3 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, application support, or related IT roles is preferred. 
  • Experience validating business applications and documenting test results. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and business teams. 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities 

  • Understanding software testing concepts and methodologies. 
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP is preferred. 
  • Experience with Jira or Azure DevOps is preferred. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. 
  • Interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with individuals both internally and externally to The Stow Company 
  • Must have excellent customer service skills; including strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Must have the ability to interface with all levels of personnel in an office and a manufacturing environment 
  • Ability to take the initiative and work well independently with little supervision, and as part of a team 

Physical Requirements & Work Environment 

  • Sitting at workstation approximately 85 percent of work time 
  • Standing and walking approximately 15 percent of work time 
  • Must be able to travel between plant and office locations 
  • Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice 
  • Typical office environment with shelves overhead and above work surfaces 
  • Manufacturing environment with multiple machinery and moving parts
