Job description

Veterans Inc. is seeking a dynamic, hands-on IT Technician to provide day-to-day technical support and maintain our technology infrastructure across multiple New England locations, as well as in Montana and North Dakota. Under the general supervision of the IT Manager, you will resolve system issues, secure workstations, and ensure reliable hardware operations. Your work will directly optimize the systems that empower our frontline teams to deliver immediate, life-changing resources to our nation's heroes. This individual would be based out of the 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA location but will be required to travel throughout New England.  WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAY TO DAY:Provide Helpdesk Support: Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, landlines, mobile devices, software, and hardware via phone, email, chat, and in person.Administer Core IT Systems: Assist with managing Office 365, Azure Active Directory, user accounts, permissions, and password resets.Maintain Network & MDM Tools: Support Meraki MDM, UniFi wireless access points, and T-Mobile cellular services, including 5G modems and hotspots.Manage Endpoint Security: Monitor email security via Checkpoint Harmony, deploy endpoint protection tools, and enforce cybersecurity best practices.Deploy & Image Devices: Assist with Windows 11 upgrades, device imaging using SmartDeploy, and routine patch management.Support Cloud Migrations: Assist the IT Manager with moving on-premises servers to cloud platforms like Azure or AWS.Transition to Intune: Support the future migration from traditional Active Directory and Group Policy to Microsoft Intune.Oversee Specialized Platforms: Coordinate third-party vendors for CCTV systems and assist with the Clarity Human Services HMIS platform.Track Inventory & Logs: Maintain accurate documentation for software licenses, device assignments, hardware configurations, and system access logs.Build Reports & Analytics: Assist with Power BI dashboards to integrate data from Clarity Human Services for program insights.Train & Educate Staff: Deliver training and create documentation for staff on hardware, software, and cybersecurity hygiene.Ensure Policy Compliance: Maintain strict data protection standards and follow all Veterans Inc. confidentiality policies WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:Two-year degree in Computer Science or Information Systems (equivalent professional experience accepted).2–5 years of IT support experience troubleshooting within a dedicated Windows environment.Proven hands-on administration of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory users and groups.Demonstrated success setting up, supporting, and troubleshooting workstations, mobile devices, and remote VPNs.Strong foundation in wired/wireless network troubleshooting, patch management, and system vulnerability remediation.Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills focused on high-quality customer support. WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:Comprehensive Benefits Package for FT employees includes:BCBS Medical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceEmployer Paid Short and Long-Term Disability and Life Insurance.$2,500 Medical Opt-Out program if you have medical coverage through another source.Retirement Plan (403B) with a $3,000 MatchFlexible Spending AccountsTuition Reimbursement ProgramPaid Parental Leave For more information, or to apply now; visit our website.
