Job Title:  Connectivity Engineer (ISP/OSP)
Duration: 6+ Months
 
Location:  Clarksville, Arkansas, Center, North Dakota , Fremont, California , And a retrofitted site in Ashburn, VA

 Position Summary
Our hyperscale client is seeking an experienced Connectivity Engineer to support the planning, design, deployment, testing, and commissioning of ISP/OSP fiber infrastructure supporting hyperscale data center campuses. This role partners closely with construction managers, network engineers, contractors, and field teams to ensure reliable, scalable connectivity infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities

  • Support deployment of ISP and OSP fiber infrastructure across hyperscale data center campuses.
  • Review fiber routing, conduit pathways, splice designs, and network construction documentation.
  • Coordinate installation, testing, certification, and commissioning of fiber optic infrastructure.
  • Manage contractors performing fiber installation, splicing, and testing activities.
  • Perform field validation of network infrastructure and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
  • Review OTDR, power meter, and fiber certification test results.
  • Coordinate issue resolution related to damaged fiber, splice loss, and connectivity failures.
  • Partner with network engineering and construction teams to ensure successful infrastructure delivery.
  • Track project schedules, construction milestones, risks, and quality metrics.
  • Support project documentation, as-built drawings, and turnover packages.


Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of ISP/OSP fiber engineering experience.
  • Recent hyperscale data center experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of: Long-haul fiberMetro fiber, Campus fiber infrastructure

Backbone deployments

  • Experience with fiber splicing, OTDR testing, power meter testing, and certification.
  • Experience supporting construction vendors and field deployments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot fiber connectivity issues in production environments.
  • Knowledge of outside plant construction methods, permitting, and utility coordination.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • BICSI certifications (RCDD, OSP Designer, Installer).
  • CFOT certification.
  • Experience with GIS and fiber documentation tools.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical infrastructure deployments.
  • Familiarity with large-scale network construction programs and vendor management.
