Job Responsibilities

The Driver’s primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient and timely delivery and pick-up of packages, in support of Clive Aldred Inc. FedEx contract, while maintaining client satisfaction and adherence to safety regulations. The incumbent must be able to quickly learn and become fully familiar with codes used on a daily basis. Quickly learn and become fully familiar with all streets and intersections associated with assigned route(s).

Specific duties:

·        Delivery and /or pick-up of packages within guidelines.
·        Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
·        Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, safety standards, as well as company policies/procedures.
·        .Ensures packages conform to general features of service, proper labeling is provided, and all paperwork is complete, neat, and accurate. This specifically includes ensuring that all packages requiring special handling or transportation are properly packed and labeled so that such packages can be transported in accordance with established safety and regulatory procedures
·        Ensures quality service is provided during each customer interaction by providing efficient and professional delivery service, answering customer questions, resolving problems or concerns and interacting in a polite and caring manner.
·        Perform other duties as required.
Job Requirements 

 QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Have at least one year of experience within the last three years of driving a vehicle 14 feet long or longer.
• Must be at least 21 (due to insurance regulations)
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug test
• Must Possess a clean driving record
•Must have High school diploma or equivalent education
• Have no convictions of a felony
•Must be able to work on weekends as needed
• Have excellent communication skills to be able to interact with customers and co-workers
•Ability to comply with any specialized regulatory or licensing requirements, as determined by geographic location and/or work assignment; will communicate any specialized regulatory or licensing requirements during the hiring process
•Must meet and maintain the Motor Vehicle Requirements, to be audited annually
•Must meet all employment qualifications in force at time of hiring, including successful passing of background check and driving evaluation test.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·        Ability, on a consistent basis, to bend/twist at the waist and knees.
·        Ability, on a consistent basis, to transport goods with special handling requirements including, but not limited to, packages, dry ice, clinical samples and/or medical products.
·        Ability, on a consistent basis, to communicate effectively with management, customers, vendors, and other team members.
·        Ability, on a consistent basis, to function in a fast-paced environment, under substantial pressure
·        Ability, on a consistent basis, to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
·        Ability, on a consistent basis, to work with minimal supervision.
