The Role

The Deployment Engineer is a core member of the Island Catalyst Team - a focused, elite deployment unit that partners directly with enterprise customers to accelerate and complete Island Enterprise Platform deployments. This is not a traditional customer success or solutions engineering role; this role works with those teams to drive expanded value for our customers. You will own engagements end-to-end, work on-site, and remotely, with customers, and contribute directly to building the deployment practice that will define how Island scales across its enterprise customer base. You help write the playbook - not just follow it.

THE ISLAND CATALYST TEAM

The Catalyst Team is a specialized, time-boxed engagement unit - a tiger team that drops into key enterprise accounts, drives deployments to target adoption, and hands confident customers back to their customer success and account teams. We operate with urgency, structure, and a clear exit.

The team is built around three core areas:

  • Deployment Framework - We design and own Island's vetted deployment methodology
  • Expert Resources - Deep platform specialists - the organization's go-to for deployment
  • On-Site Engagement - We show up, configure alongside customers, and enable on-site

What You'll Do

Customer Deployment Engagements

  • Lead time-boxed, structured deployment engagements with enterprise customers from kickoff through handoff
  • Conduct on-site deployment workshops and hands-on configuration sessions with customer IT and security teams
  • Configure Island Enterprise Platform environments - policies, integrations, identity (SSO/SCIM), and app management
  • Identify and remove technical and organizational deployment blockers in real-time
  • Drive customers to target adoption milestones within the defined engagement window
  • Deliver a complete, documented handoff - leaving every customer confident and ready to expand independently

Building the Deployment Practice

This role goes beyond execution. You will actively contribute to building the practice itself:

  • Help design, refine, and document the Island Deployment Framework - the repeatable methodology used across all engagements
  • Develop deployment workshop guides, facilitation templates, and customer-facing engagement materials
  • Build and maintain a library of reusable deployment artifacts, configuration playbooks, and best-practice documentation
  • Capture lessons learned from each engagement and feed them back into methodology improvements
  • Contribute to establishing the intake process, engagement criteria, and operating model for the Catalyst Team
  • Produce deployment case studies and reference documentation that enable broader organizational learning

What You Bring

  • 3+ years in implementation consulting, solutions engineering, technical customer success, or a similar customer-facing technical role
  • Hands-on experience deploying enterprise software - ideally in security, endpoint management, or network infrastructure
  • Proven experience leveraging AI to accelerate your work, deliver higher value to customers, and familiarity with AI concepts like GenAI, Agentic AI, RAG, MCP and tools like Claude, Gemini, Lovable.
  • Strong technical foundation with enterprise identity (Entra ID, Okta, Google Workspace), SSO/SAML/SCIM, and browser or endpoint environments
  • Proven ability to lead workshops and drive decisions in a room - you're comfortable with stakeholders at all levels
  • Structured project management instincts - you can run a time-boxed engagement with clear milestones and hold all parties accountable
  • Strong written and verbal communication - you translate technical complexity into clear customer guidance
  • Willingness and ability to travel for on-site customer engagements (estimated 40–60%)

Preferred

  • Familiarity with the Island Enterprise Platform
  • Background in professional services, implementation consulting, or managed deployment programs
  • Experience building deployment frameworks, playbooks, or enablement content from scratch
  • Exposure to enterprise security concepts - DLP, web filtering, zero trust, or endpoint policy management

WHY JOIN THE CATALYST TEAM

  • Build something new - you're not inheriting a practice, you're creating it
  • Become the organization's authority on what drives the best Island deployments
  • High-impact, visible work- every engagement directly moves the needle on customer adoption
  • A tight-knit, mission-driven team with a clear purpose and a defined operating model
  • Opportunity to grow into a practice lead or deployment architecture role as the team scales

What We Offer

  • 100% covered medical, dental, and vision benefits for employees starting on day 1, with 85% covered for dependents
  • Discretionary Time Off (DTO)
  • 401K with 4% company match
  • Paid parental leave policies
  • Daily catered lunch in our Coppell HQ
  • 24/7 access to Cypress Waters gym facilities
