Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Coach at our Phoenix MicroSchool to support students attending a RISE Institute MicroSchool. The ideal candidate will work directly with students in a physical space to ensure they remain engaged, supported, and successful in their learning. This role includes helping students stay on task, assisting with assignments, managing behavior, and organizing engaging, faith-aligned activities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Student Support & Supervision:
    • Help students stay focused and on task during virtual classes.
    • Provide homework help, ensuring understanding and completion of assignments.
    • Support students during live online teaching sessions with note-taking, clarifying instructions, and ensuring respectful behavior.
  • Classroom Management:
    • Maintain a calm, respectful, and organized learning environment grounded in Islamic values of discipline and kindness.
    • Foster positive interactions and model good akhlāq (character) among students.
  • Instructional Assistance:
    • Assist with differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners (advanced, struggling, etc.).
    • Prepare materials and organize resources for student learning support.
  • Friday Program Planning:
    • Plan and lead small-group activities that are engaging and educational.
    • Organize hands-on learning experiences that tie into weekly academic and Islamic themes.
    • Facilitate physical education sessions promoting health and teamwork.
    • Coordinate Islamic projects that reinforce Qurʾānic values, history of the Prophets and Ahlul Bayt, and character-building.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
    • Work closely with lead virtual teachers and parents to support student progress.
    • Share updates and concerns in a timely, respectful manner.
    • Uphold school values and contribute to a spiritually uplifting environment.
