2026-2027 After School Care Programย Monitor - Part-time Benefit Ineligible
St. Mary Nativity Catholic School, Joliet, Illinoisย 
ย Position available:ย August 11, 2026



Position Purpose
The candidate must have a positive attitude and serve as a role model to participants in the program. After School Care Program staff must enjoy working with school-aged children/teens.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Ensuring the safety of all children in the program
  • Signing children upon arrival and out when they leave
  • Creating an enriching, fun, and safe environment
  • Planning activities for children of all ages
  • Interacting positively with children and their families
  • Working independently as well as with a team
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal or pastor.

Education and Experience

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Candidates must be at least 16 years old.
  • Protecting God's Children Certificate and Background Check required.
  • A background in education and/or college course(s)ย in recreation education is a plus but not required.
  • Childcare work experience with children of all agesย preferred but not required.
  • Other training may be required after employment begins.

Work Schedule
This person must be available to work:

  • After school
    • Monday Friday from 2:45 pm 6:00 pm
    • Meets on regular school days when school is in session.

ย Hourly Range $15.00 - $23.00

  • Final hourly rate will be determined by relevant years of experience in a similar job combined with education and professional licensure.

Physical abilities that are commonly associated with the performance of this job
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently be required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, feel with hands, reach with arms, walk up or down multiple flights of stairs, and be physically able to perform duties as assigned, including the ability to lift up to 20-30 pounds if needed.

  • Works in standard office and school building environments but also has ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities.
