Job description

The Project Manager is the primary driver of a successful ERP deployment experience for DMSi customers. Operating within DMSi's Customer Experience organization, this role owns the full project lifecycle - from kick-off through go-live and closure - while serving as the primary client-facing point of accountability. The Project Manager leads with authority, anticipates risks before they become issues, and holds both internal teams and customer stakeholders to their commitments. They translate complex ERP configuration decisions into clear business outcomes and ensure every project reflects DMSi's standard of customer obsession. Projects include new ERP conversions, new location additions, merger and acquisition integrations, and integrated solution deployments.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  1. Lead the full project lifecycle - initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and formal closure - following DMSi's implementation methodology
  2. Conduct and document formal Business Process Reviews (BPRs) at project initiation and govern adherence to plan throughout, formally documenting scope deviations and change requests
  3. Configure and validate implementation plans using knowledge of DMSi products, customer business workflows, and applicable integrations
  4. Serve as the primary client contact from project kickoff through closure - building trust, setting expectations, and maintaining clear visibility into project health
  5. Communicate proactively: status updates, risk flags, change impact, and go-live readiness - never letting stakeholders be surprised
  6. Build relationships that convert implementation engagements into long-term client loyalty
  7. Identify, document, and actively manage risks and issues throughout the project - escalating appropriately when thresholds are crossed
  8. Complete all project administration requirements including time recording, billing documentation, and project closure tasks per policy
  9. Contribute to onboarding and knowledge-sharing for newer implementation team members
  10. Travel to customer sites as required, typically 2-4 consecutive days per trip

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Strong command of ERP concepts, business processes, and accounting/financial principles.
Demonstrated project management capability: planning, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication on multi-month engagements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to simplify complexity for all audiences.
Strong analytical and problem-solving orientation - able to diagnose root causes, not just symptoms.
High degree of client-facing professionalism: organized, accountable, and dependable under pressure.
Proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office suite.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS, Project Management or equivalent work experience/accreditation.
3+ years of experience in software implementation, project management, or a consulting role with direct client engagement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Normal office environment with use of computers and telephone systems; no unusual physical demands.
Travel to customer locations as needed, including business air travel and car rental.
